The Parents’ Association of Whitecross National School is a thriving and active committee made up of parents of children from all classes. We meet on the first Monday of every month and all parents are welcome.  The position of Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary and Public Relations Officer are elected by all parents at the Annual General Meeting which is held at the beginning of the new academic year.

We have an excellent working relationship with the school and have undertaken numerous joint projects over the years. The Parent’s Association currently organize events throughout the year including Brennans Personal Accident Insurance,  Big Breakfast (in aid of Childline), Sponsored Beach Walk, Art and Literary Competition, Table Quiz (for parents and 6th class students) 1st Holy Communion Party, 6th Class Leaving Party, Book Rental Scheme, Sports Day and there is ongoing involvement with the school garden.  Each year we organize additional events which are of benefit to the school community.  Money raised from our fundraising events is used to purchase additional equipment for the school.

We are a member of the National Parents Council, Primary, and keep parents informed of their workshops and events. We communicate with parents by circulating newsletters and can be contacted by email at whitecrossnspa@gmail.com or by phone on 087 2927151.

Finally we are a group of parents whose common aim is to work alongside the teachers to maintain a happy school environment for our children.  All parents are very welcome to get involved. It does not mean a huge commitment – people can give as little or as much time as they like – even participation in one event a year means a lot.
